Another Opening! Another Show!

Merde Everyone! Have a Glorious and Happy Opening!

Well its finally here; Opening Night of “War Paint” on Broadway! The “glimmer of Light” that was emanating beyond is now here and as bright and beautiful as expected. This is the seventh Broadway Opening I’ve been a part of and even though I will not be on the stage for this one I am still thrilled to be here.

The foundation for this piece are the remarkable lives of the two women that built business empires in a time of history that women just did not have the opportunity to do so. Thank you Ms. Arden and Madame Rubinstein for your incomparable contributions to the world of beauty and timeless elegance. Brava!

I have been so amused listening to the dressing room discussions as everyone updated each other on their plans for what they were wearing to the party. Many months ago, December to be exact; I stood in front of my armoire where all my gowns live, pulled the possibilities and placed them lovingly on the bed. The choices were all predicated on what would fit, and would be the most comfortable for sitting, standing, and dancing. It came down to two choices, and I packed both along with the accessories that would finish “the look.” I made my decision on which one to wear last week here in my little New York apartment. I am happy with my choice, and plan on looking pretty and having a wonderful time.

I will be on a date with my husband and excited to watch everyone shine up there on the stage. It has been a very long and demanding process, and I know how much hard work was put into this production. Needless to say, I am beyond proud of each and every performer, musician, crew member and the creatives who have poured their hearts and souls into this new piece that will now join the rest of the many theatrical achievements that have arrived onto the Great White Way.

Patti, so proud of you. Decades ago, I went to Rio Grande and our NM All-State Chorus singers went to Albuquerque High to rehearse along with Mr. Sheets and his singers from Valley High School. That evening, for the first time I heard the voice of a small, little Soprano soloist with a big voice named Patti.

Now, I’m happy to know of the wonderful memories you’ve created along this river of years. Brava!

    Congratulations, Patti!!

How we wish we could see you and give you this message in person. Unfortunately, neither of us is getting around well enough for the energy it takes to navigate NYC at this point. Lloyd has had a number of health issues and I’m slowing down much more than I’d like. However, we are very happy to hear that you are back on Broadway. We hope you and Tom had a wonderful time at the opening. We enjoy reading your blogs and are happy to see that you are still gracing audiences with your beautiful voice. We hope that your family is well and we would ask that you would give Tom and Suzette our love. May “War Paint” have a great run. Love always, Paula and Lloyd Lamb

    Congratulations, Patti!

We wish we could be seeing you and giving you our message in person. However, because Lloyd has had health issues and I’ve slowed down neither of us have the energy to tackle NYC at this point. We are so happy to see that you are back on Broadway and feel the show is blessed to have you on board. We are also happy to hear that you are still sharing your beautiful voice with audiences fortunate enough to hear you. We hope you and Tom had a fun evening and that the reviews were all everyone hoped for. We also hope your family is well. Please give Tom and Suzette our love.

May “War Paint” do very well on Broadway.

Love always, Paula and Lloyd Lamb
