Today I received an email invitation to my dear friend Roger Keller’s Memorial, and so sad that I can not be there to honor him and his memory.
I was stunned, blindsided, and heartbroken getting this news even though I knew that he was battling health issues. It has been a long time since I had seen him, but he held a very special place in my heart; he always will.
Roger was an extraordinary person with a sense of humor and comic timing that was incomparable. We were very close for many years, however time marched forward and we lost touch, but we certainly never lost the love we held for each other. I have no words to express my sadness today.
Roger and our mutual departed friend Frank Roth were an integral part of my early career both in Los Angeles as well as New York, and supported and loved me through the many rejections, the heartaches, and the ultimate triumphs.
I take solace that Roger is no longer in pain, and that he is now reducing the Angels in Heaven into uncontrollable tears of laughter while I am earthbound awash in tears of sorrow.
Rest In Peace dear friend.
